APRIL 2013

Training attention is devoted to secondary school (preferibly to upper-secondary school) teachers which in turn will be able to give suitable information to their students. Classes will provide knowledge and teaching tools about native and alien crayfish species, their importance within the frame of the tradition and of the historic and environmental regional context, the problems associated to the spread of the Louisiana red swamp crayfish concerning animal and human health and the biodiversity, the production of hatchery-reared crayfish juveniles for restocking purposes, the new scenarios wide opened by scientific research to contrast the diffusion of invasive alien species, and much more. Speakers belong to the RARITY partner institutions: the Universities of Florence and Trieste, the Institute of Marine Sciences of the CNR of Venice, the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale delle Venezie of Padua and the Ente Tutela Pesca del FVG of Udine. At the end of the training (that is totally FREE) participants will receive a CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE. (12 applicants)
